Landmine and Unexploded Ordnance Clearance Battambang and Pailin Provinces, Cambodia
The Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation is working in partnership with the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) to clear landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Cambodia that continues to threaten lives and maim civilian’s decades after war has ended. The partnership involves the deployment of two mine action teams and one survey team in Cambodia’s Battambang and Pailin provinces. The clearance activities are transforming the lives of an estimated 772 local residents, including 153 families. MAG are also supporting a number of The Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation’s research and innovation projects by assessing and testing new technology being developed to help make the clearance of landmines and UXO quicker, safer, and more cost effective.
