Find A Better Way Visits MS Amlin
Find A Better Way’s CEO Lou McGrath has attended a meeting with one of its corporate sponsors and one of the largest global insurance groups, MS Amlin. Lou met with the Chair of MS Amlin’s Charity Committee, James Little to discuss future volunteer support from MS Amlin staff.
Last year, following a presentation by Lou, the company agreed to a 3 year funding package for the Sir Bobby Charlton Centre for Support and Rehabilitation, based in Amman, Jordan, that would directly support the art therapy programme for traumatised children and young people.
Lou presented a picture which had been drawn by an 11 year old Syrian boy who was receiving psychological support as well as art therapy at the centre, due to the shocking experiences he had endured in his home country.
Find A Better Way’s Jordan conflict recovery centre, which opened in 2017, supports conflict affected communities by providing access to its humanitarian and development services tailored to specific needs.
The art therapy programme, which encourages refugees to engage in art to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, takes place alongside trauma counselling and peer mentoring.
James Little explained that they would like to further support the work of the charity and would be interested in Find A Better Way offering opportunities for MS Amlin staff to volunteer their time to support the charity. Find A Better Way will now look at the many different ways the charity can benefit from volunteer support from MS Amlin staff.
