Give the Gift of Football This Christmas
This Christmas, the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation continues Sir Bobby’s legacy of bringing hope and joy to children through football. Our partnership with Shakhtar FC’s United Together project supports children living through a war, and the fear, stress, isolation and displacement it brings to their young lives.
Every week, boys and girls aged 7 to 12 gather to play football, finding moments of normality amidst the chaos and terror of conflict.
But when air raid sirens sound, their training sessions are halted and they have to take shelter in underground bunkers—cold, dark and desolate spaces where fear often overshadows hope, and where there is nothing to do except wait. Sometimes for hours.
This Christmas, we want to give the gift of table football games for them to play during their time underground. It’s a distraction, and a chance to play at least some form of football and have fun while detained in a bunker.
Just £5,000 will buy three games for each of the three centres we are sponsoring. Please help us to help them by donating whatever you can spare to bring some joy to these children this Christmas.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue Sir Bobby Charlton’s vision of making the world a better place for young people through football.
Together, we can give the gift of football and happiness to children in Ukraine.
