The SBC Foundation Visits Exceed Training Centre in Cambodia

Last week, The Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation visited the Exceed training centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia with H.E Mao Bunnhath Advisor and Director of Victim Assistant Department of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistant Authority (CMAA) activities and training.

The SBC Foundation centre partners, Exceed specialise in Prosthetics and Orthotics skills training. In February 2020, seven students from countries across the globe, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, the Philippines and Lao PDR, joined the Prosthetic and Orthotic Technicians Training Programme, provided by Exceed and funded by The SBC Foundation.

Rajapaksha Vidanelage Sagara Nuwan Sameera, a student from Sri Lanka who works at the Sri Lanka Army as a bench technician commented: “I would like to thank The SBC Foundation for giving me this rare opportunity. We have many people with disabilities in my country that need our services.”

By the end of 2020, Sagara is expecting to pass the course and use his skills to support his community.
