Sir Bobby’s Street Reds Easter Camp brings football, friendship and opportunity to local youth.
This Easter, the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation proudly supported the Sir Bobby’s Street Reds Easter Camp – a dynamic youth programme delivered in partnership with the Manchester United Foundation. Over two days, the camp welcomed 92 participants from across Greater Manchester for free football sessions, mentoring and vital life-skills education.

Throughout the camp, young people aged 8 to 12 took part in structured coaching, informal learning and personal development workshops, all in a safe, supportive environment. The sessions encouraged teamwork, resilience and mutual respect, creating lasting memories and meaningful growth.
One of the most impactful elements was the introduction of the ‘Mini-Medics’ qualification, through which 54 participants learned essential lifesaving skills including CPR. For many, it was their first experience gaining an accredited certificate, an achievement that could one day save a life on or off the pitch.

The programme was made possible through the support of six dedicated Manchester United Foundation volunteers, who helped deliver the activities and mentor participants throughout the camp.

The Street Reds initiative reflects the values that Sir Bobby Charlton held close: using football as a force for good, creating opportunities and investing in the potential of every young person. The Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation remains committed to these goals, ensuring young people, regardless of background, have access to safe, empowering spaces where they can thrive.
We thank all who made the Easter Camp a success, especially the young people whose energy and determination continue to inspire our work.
