Manchester United Legend, Wes Brown, supports Sir Bobby’s Street Reds
Earlier this month, the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation funded an Easter Camp for the Sir Bobby’s Street Reds’ children in Moss Side, Manchester. Delivered in partnership with The Manchester United Foundation, Street Reds provides free football sessions for children in the local community, as well as a safe, welcoming space where young people can take part in positive activity supported by local coaches and mentors.
Around 50 young people per day took part, bringing energy, enthusiasm and a shared love for the game. We were especially delighted to welcome former player Wes Brown, who spent time with the children, answered their questions, and presented each one with a special gift at the end of the camp.
To celebrate the spirit of Sir Bobby, prizes were awarded and presented by the football coaches to those who truly embodied Sir Bobby’s values of teamwork, kindness and encouragement.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this such a memorable and inspiring event, and a special thank you to Manchester United legend and five-time Premier League winner, Wes Brown who was so generous with his time at the soccer camp.
“We will always remember what Sir Bobby Charlton did”, he said. “His legacy began a long time ago and continues to this day”.
